CEO - Thak Patel
Thak has over 20 years experience in telecoms sector from software development, Systems Engineering to management, with later years in Wireless Communications. He has worked for major blue chip companies such as Alcatel and T-Mobile in Germany and Lucent Technologies (USA and UK). Thak has experience of managing complex projects requiring management of virtual teams based in multiple locations across the world. He chaired a technical working group for European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and was also a representative on 3GPP telecommunications standards development. He completed his MBA from Anglia Ruskin University with distinction pass mark in his dissertation (developing a 3 year marketing strategy for LogicaCMG). He now delivers consultancy to local businesses and is a founder director of THINKindia and Cambridge SkillsTap local networking group.
Technology & Development - Rafi Ahmad
Rafi Ahmad did his B.Tech in Mechanical engineering, M.Tech in Computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) from IIT Bombay, India and then completed his PG Diploma in Finance and Management from University of Essex, UK. He worked in various fields and roles in various industries, from marketing engineer in robotic manufacturing company to project manager in a software company. He worked in both India and UK and has over 6 years of extensive professional experience. Currently based in Mumbai (India), taking care of Indian part of sales & promotions apart from being the technology guru of THINKindia.
Advisor - David Gill
David Gill CEO St John’s Innovation Centre qualified as a barrister before working in both investment and commercial banking, most recently as Head of the Innovation & Technology Unit for HSBC, the largest UK-based international bank.
He spent a year recently as a Sloan Fellow at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in California, and since 2005 has been a partner in ET Capital, a specialist early-stage venture capital fund based in Cambridge.

Tony is Chief Executive of Q Communications Limited in Cambridge – publisher of Business Weekly newspaper and related media, online and download to mobile. A veteran of Fleet Street, Tony was brought in by major Q Communications shareholder Hermann Hauser from the Daily Telegraph in 1993 to head up a restructuring of Business Weekly and to broaden its coverage to the international arena and across multimedia platforms.
Now a confirmed Cambridge entrepreneur in his own right, Tony works with Government agencies and leading corporate influencers to promote the East of England globally. Business Weekly facilitates two-way trade between the region and key trade centres worldwide. Tony has forged important trade links with Indian executives in the software, automotive, CleanTech and Renewable energy sectors and has helped world leading local companies establish and develop operations within India.
